FLAG RAISING FOR CHILD ABUSE PREVENTION
On April 15, 2024, a special flag raising ceremony was held at the Riverside County Administrative Center. The ceremony, now in its second year, honored the lives of young people lost due to abuse, neglect, and violence. It also aimed to educate the community on identifying signs of abuse and highlight the collaborative efforts undertaken by various organizations to protect children's well-being.
Community members gathered to pay their respects to victims and demonstrate their collective commitment to creating a safer environment for children. Prominent figures including Second District Supervisor Karen Spiegel, Third District Supervisor Chuck Washington, and Sheriff Chad Bianco delivered powerful speeches emphasizing the importance of community involvement and child protection. County Executive Officer, Jeff Van Wagenen, emceed the event.
